Mr. V. K. ShungluChairman, DPS Society
V. K. Shunglu served as the 9th Comptroller and Auditor General of India. He is a 1962 batch Indian Administrative Service Officer from the Madhya Pradesh cadre. He is a recipient of the Padma Bhushan in 2019.He is among the founding members of the India Rejuvenation Initiative, an anti-corruption forum formed by retired bureaucrats. He has also been a member of many committees including the inquiry commission into the Commonwealth Games scandal and the Shunglu Committee which examined charges of irregularities in government appointments in the state of Delhi. He also headed the committee to assess the rehabilitation of people displaced by the construction of the SardarSarovar Dam and the committee to look into the proposal by Indian Institutes of Managements for increasing their fees. He is a member of and is the Current chairman of Delhi Public School Society since 2014. He was conferred the Padma Bhushan in 2019 for his contributions to the civil services.
DPS Rajpura is a co-education day school promoted by the Lighthouse Educational Trust and managed by the Delhi Public School Society. The DPS Society with its motto, Service before Self, was registered under the Society’s Act in 1948 and the very first school of the DPS Society was launched in 1949 at Mathura Road. From a single school, the DPS Society’s schools have spread their educational wings across the country and abroad. Today, the legacy of its quality learning experiences reaches out to millions of young minds through nearly 200 Delhi Public Schools.
En route, the DPS Society has empowered the teaching and student community through the establishment of the Human Resource Development Centre. The HRDC takes a distinct place within the Delhi Public Schools system, working as a platform to address, articulate and disseminate innovative educational ideas preparing teachers and students of Delhi Public Schools, with a unified, collective vision.

Dr. (Ms.) GunmeetBindra, Founder Trustee Delhi Public School, Rajpura, an alumnus of the Delhi School of Economics and Calcutta University, is the first woman to have headed a boys’ boarding school in India.
An accomplished educationist with over 30 years of experience in teaching and school administration, she has held many coveted positions, including member of the CBSE Governing Body, as well as the CBSE Affiliation Committee. She is the British Council School Ambassador in India and a member of the Board of Trustees of the International Boys’ School Coalition (IBSC), as the current Vice President of the IBSC-Asia Pacific Region.
Of the numerous awards conferred upon DrBindra, a few which deserve mention here are the CBSE National Award for Teachers in 2014 presented by thePresident of India, Shri Pranab Mukherjee, the Bharat VidyaVibhushanPuraskar, Certificate of Educational Excellence of the Global Achievers Foundation, presented by the Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, the Pride of Doon Award by The Doon Citizens Council, Dehradun presented by the Governor of Uttarakhand, the Rajiv Gandhi Education Excellence Award, Certificate for Outstanding Achievement in the field of Education, the Outstanding Achievement Award 2016 by the GarhwalPost for Education and Social Leadership and the prestigious ‘Uttarakhand Ratna Award’.In February 2017, DrBindra was conferred upon the National Award for Instructional Leadership in the Principals’ category of the awards at the NDTV-Educomp Education Awards. She has won Extraordinary Leadership Award 2019 by Education World.

Mr. Ranjot Singh, an accomplished businessman in the field of manufacture of auto parts, foundry and real estate, is a commerce graduate from Delhi University is the Chairman and Managing Director of Emdet Group of Companies with an experience of over 23 years. The company has multiple manufacturing plants and operations PAN India with its Head Office at Jamshedpur (Jharkhand), supplying two major original equipment manufacturers, products that are known for being the best in class quality.
Apart from being a proud recipient of awards for Best Development, Timely Delivery and Quality year after year from leading companies like Tata Motors, Ashok Leyland and Volvo Eicher Motors, MrRanjot Singh has also held prestigious positions of responsibility, including Past President Rotary Club of Jamshedpur, Steel City, Member- State Council CII Jharkhand etc. He is currently National Executive Member of Automotive Components Manufacturers Association (ACMA), and Executive Committee Member (ER)- All India Rubber Industries Association.
As an industrialist, he has touched many souls and is a beacon-light to many aspiring youngsters. His personality is such that nobody who comes in contact with him returns uninspired. His charisma, his ready-wittedness and an enviable sense of humour along with this quick decision-making, logical approach, innovative bent of mind, good anticipation, ability to see through problems and make a thread-bare analysis of everything, love for what is just and faith in God makes him a perfect leader. He strongly believes that each child entrusted with DPSRajpura will receive education in its finest form.
Mrs. Geetika ChandraPrincipal
“Change is the only constant in life. One's ability to adapt to those changes will determine your success in life.” Truly believing in these words of Benjamin Franklin, Mrs. Geetika Chandra discerned at a young age that flexibility is indeed imperative to find oneself stable grounds. Being a third generation army progeny, integrity, discipline and tenacity have always been a way of life for her. She opines that this adaptability and regulation are an essential part of learning because it helps students become successful at both - school and life.
Being an MBA in HR and Marketing and and holding a Masters degree in English language, Mrs. Chandra had been initiated into the corporate world - associated with some prestigious brands. However, following her passion for education, she entered the world of education in 1999. Putting perfection in all her work, she has been associated with many residential and day schools across India with the aim of giving back to the society. Having taught children of all age groups, coupled with her people management skills, she gathered deep insights on student psychology and behaviour and stepped into administrative roles in 2011.
Known to be a task-master, Mrs. Chandra’s mantra in life is to always look at situations from a bird’s eye view, and having one’s heart in the right place! She also believes in an approach to education that is unique in its focus on the individual, ascertaining that the institution understands every child’s capacity to learn in many ways—and that's because she strongly believes that learning is a process, not a ‘one-size-fits-all’ experience. She is convinced that by using a methodology of relevance, we can transform these ways of learning into a toolkit of concepts, skills and knowledge that our students can use to shape their futures and face challenges successfully - in and outside of school.
